The Duke of Edinburgh’s international Award has been up and running in Malta for over 60 years. Following statements by current Chairman, Mr Kenneth De Martino and National Director, Ms Debbie Vella, here is a tribute from the former Chairman, Mr Charles Cilia MVO and the former National Director Ms Marion Cilia, two people who have seen the Award in Malta grow over time and have given their energies in making sure it would be delivered around Malta and Gozo.
I have known His Royal Highness Prince Philip while serving on the International Council of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and also had the opportunity to welcome him in Malta when He visited the Award in 2001 during my Chairmanship of the Award Scheme. His leadership and confidence were most inspiring.
Charles Cilia MVO, Former Chairman
